The Scylla team is pleased to announce the release of Scylla 2.1.1, a bugfix release of the Scylla 2.1 stable branch. Release 2.1.1, like all past and future 2.x.y releases, is backward compatible and supports rolling upgrades.
Scylla is an open source NoSQL database compatible with Apache Cassandra, with superior performance and consistently low latency. Starting from this release, critical bugs will be fixed in the Scylla 2.1 and 2.0 release series only. If you are still using open source Scylla 1.7 or prior – you are encouraged to upgrade. We will continue to fix bugs and add features to the master branch towards Scylla 2.2 and beyond.

Bugs Fixed in this Release
- Scylla aborted with an “Assertion `end >= _stream_position’ failed” exception. This occurred when querying a partition with no clustering ranges (happened on counter table with no live rows) which also didn’t have static columns. #3304
- A regression was discovered in version 2.1.0 which caused Scylla to crash in some cases at initialization or close soon thereafter. #3296
- In some rare cases when one or more nodes were down, a Scylla gossip bug caused Scylla to exit with a segmentation fault. #3299
